Navigating Executive Dysfunction as a Neurodivergent Millennial: My Journey with Idea Overload

Hey there, fellow neurodivergent souls! Today, I want to open up about a struggle many of us face: Executive Dysfunction. Specifically, I want to chat about the endless whirlwind of ideas that can make it nearly impossible to focus on just one path. As a millennial with a neurodivergent brain, this is a hurdle I’ve been dancing around for a while now.

Let me paint you a picture – I’ve been nursing the dream of creating life coaching-related trainings for what feels like eons. The prospect excites me, but oh boy, does the devil lie in the details. I crave perfection, to execute flawlessly and I often find myself drowning in the sheer amount of minutiae required to bring these ideas to life.

My notebook is brimming with pages upon pages of training concepts, strategies, and approaches that have done wonders for my own daily functioning. But putting them all together cohesively into a training program? Now, that’s a different story altogether.

So, what do I do to combat the overwhelm and steer my idea-laden ship towards calmer waters? Here are a few strategies I’ve been employing, even though I haven’t quite reached the finish line yet:

1. Setting Time Blocks: Creating dedicated time slots to work on specific tasks has been a game-changer. It keeps me accountable and helps in carving out focused pockets of productivity.

2. Breaking It Down: The mammoth task of creating a training program becomes less daunting when broken into bite-sized chunks. Baby steps, they say, right?

3. Deadlines Are My Friends: Setting realistic deadlines nudges me out of the ‘perfection or bust’ mindset. It injects a sense of urgency into my workflow.

4. Leveraging Tools: Talk-text features and AI generative technology have been my trusty sidekicks in navigating the nitty-gritty aspects of content creation. They streamline the process and free up mental space for creativity.

My ultimate goal? To weave these strategies into a comprehensive training program that tackles executive dysfunction head-on, helping others like me find their footing in a world that often feels overwhelming.

This journey isn’t about sprinting to the finish line; it’s about embracing the twists and turns, learning from them, and inching forward, step by step. So, to my fellow neurodivergent dreamers out there – let’s continue to carve our paths, armed with resilience, self-compassion, and a sprinkle of creative chaos. Together, we’ve got this!
